ASKERI GALLERY will be presenting its boost D5 in the MAIN section at the Cosmoscow contemporary art fair. The 10th Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair will be held at Gostiny Dvor (Ilyinka 4, Moscow) from 15 to 17 September 2022.

Polina Askeri presents the artists from ASKERI GALLERY who are united by a common philosophical theme of research - as an eternal process, the main driving force of mankind. Each of the artists reveals a different aspect of the problem of knowledge, altogether giving us an idea of the depth and importance of this process.

For example, the internationally renowned South Korean artist Kwang-Young Chun creates art objects that contain the power of creation, love for the history and culture of his native country. The works, made from traditional Korean hanji paper, for all their fragility, tell us about the strength of national roots, the timelessness of values and the importance of national memory.

Until the end of November 2022, it is possible to view the works of Kwang-Young Chun at the Venice Biennale: an entire aesthetic laboratory, Times Reimagined, is dedicated to paper objects from the hanji covering all 4 floors of the Palazzo Contarini Polignac.
The project comprises about 40 large-scale reliefs, sculptures and installations in silk paper, a true cultural and historical exploration.

The multicultural and interdisciplinary artist Masha Rudenko sees value in the process of self-discovery. Her works, created using a unique applicative technique, focus on corporeality, through which the author examines the emotional experience inherent in each of us, getting to know herself, while also introducing the viewer to the mechanisms of self exploration.

Spanish artist Juan Miguel Palacios in turn creates a kind of gallery of human emotions. His realistic and three-dimensional male and female images are combined with textures in relief and become a living embodiment of man's eternal struggle with time. In his work, Palacios deliberately avoids using canvas and creates his creations with sheets of plasterboard, aluminium and transparent vinyl film. Palacios' unique authorial technique allows him to explore and embody the full range of human emotions, such as happiness, mourning, a sense of justice or inequality, harmony and unease, creation and enjoyment.

Unique Moscow sculptor Daniel Zakh presents a near-scientific approach to the theme of technological progress, exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence and combining them with boundless human creativity. His sculpture - vibrant and multifaceted - is created using algorithms, but it is also dedicated to human emotions and natural forces that know no order and recognise no dry logic. 

Thus, the boost of ASKERI GALLERY is a kind of retrospective, giving a deep insight into the processes of the present and the near future. The exploration of culture, history and the self continues within the stand, offered to visitors as a core question for reflection.

It is fundamental for ASKERI GALLERY to convey to our contemporaries the importance of art that speaks to us of eternal values, sharing our cultural and moral compass. That is why and exactly why it seems right and important to participate in the art fair with such a composition.
