Eva Armisén is a Spanish artist who lives and works in Barcelona. She is one of the most renowned Aragonese artists abroad. Eva Armisén was born in Zaragoza in 1969 and studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. She later continued her studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and at the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Palma de Mallorca. The artist’s works are exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. She is well-known not only in Europe but also in Asia, Australia, and the United States. Her exhibitions have taken place in Lisbon, Shanghai, Melbourne, Singapore, and Miami. Eva Armisén has worked in studios in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Madrid. Eva Armisén has created public installations and street art projects in Seoul, collaborated with major brands such as Samsung and Nike, and worked with film studios and travel companies. The artist creates artworks in various forms and mediums, including sculpture, ceramics, engraving, and silk-screen printing. She is also a co-author of three children's books and an illustrator for numerous newspapers and magazines. Her art can be described as multicultural and truly multifaceted. Eva’s works focus on everyday life and the ordinary, which she strives to explore and present from a fresh perspective, revealing the uniqueness and extraordinariness of the mundane. Her paintings are optimistic, filled with life and genuine emotions. Armisén’s characters are ordinary people—walking, dancing, eating, gathering with family and friends—in other words, simply living their lives. This beauty of everyday moments fascinates Armisén and inspires her to draw parallels between human life and natural phenomena and cycles. The artist dedicates series of works to themes of love and family, self-discovery, and finding one’s place in life. She engages with the viewer on essential topics that form the bigger picture of the world. Her naïve style and vibrant color palette make her paintings reminiscent of children's drawings, which for the artist represent sincerity and honesty with oneself and others. In her works, everyone can recognize themselves and their families, recall important moments from the past, or reflect on future plans. The warmth of home and the embrace of loved ones are recurring themes in Armisén’s art, emphasizing the irreplaceable and unwavering importance of family, love, and care. A separate series of her works is dedicated to overcoming difficulties. Through her paintings and sculptures, she encourages resilience, urging people not to give up but to keep fighting for what is dear and valuable. Life’s hardships and the experience of internal or external crises are also part of everyday life, showcasing the strength and near-omnipotence of human conviction when guided by a meaningful goal.
