Ksenia Sandesco
Ksenia Sandesco (Moscow, 11/21/1996) is a Moscow artist who explores the connection between figurative and abstract art in her work. Through her works, Ksenia Sandesco conveys her inner feelings and feelings through female images. She is interested in the dialogue between realistically depicted shapes and dynamic abstract backgrounds. She deliberately refuses to interpret the world around her correctly and creates her own, consisting of chaotic spots, tricky weaves of fabrics, various combinations of color and texture.
The independent expressiveness of the human body is emphasized by decorative background elements that frame the figures, like jewelry. Ksenia's field of research is the nature of human emotions and sensations, the deep tender bond between people, as well as human vulnerability in the face of time. The subjects of the works resemble vivid dreams, the central place in which is occupied by memories from childhood, the touch of a mother's hands or a kiss from a loved one. The compositional solution always boils down to the central role of the characters, and expressive work with the color and texture of the oil, combined with experimental materials such as textiles and collage, emphasizes the intensity of the emotional states that the narrative is about.
