Press release

From 25 May to 30 August, Moscow's contemporary art gallery ASKERI GALLERY will host an exhibition of Russian artist and sculptor Daniel Zakh's "Geological". The exhibition will bring together three series of works: STRATA, a continuation of the ELASTIC LIMIT series and the famous INSIGHT.

The STRATA series represents a fundamentally new way of looking at sculpture. The stylistics of Daniel Zakh's work dwells on geological and socio-cultural processes, and refers to the concept of multiple layers, demonstrating a curious symbiosis between form and colour.

The sculptural group in scarlet and blue, laid out on a palette, actually demonstrates a step-by-step process of the emergence of colour and form, as if it were completely controllable and logical. To bring logic and predictability to natural, natural processes, Daniel Zakh has a unique technology of creating sculptures: the artist first programs colour and form with special formulas and codes on the computer, and then brings them to life. In this way, nature and technology are combined in the artist's work.

The ELASTIC LIMIT series refers to deeper, more philosophical questions: how is the relief of the earth's surface formed? Who controls it? Is there any way to influence it? Answering these questions, Daniel Zakh creates a series of unique, incredibly beautiful works in understated tones that immerse us in a meditative state and allow us to explore the earth's surface, which is normally inaccessible to us from this point of view.

Science and technique in the artist's art are juxtaposed with an incredible aesthetic and a philosophy that captures to the core.
