Press release
From October 6 to 25, the ASKERI GALLERY will host a personal exhibition of the French artist Romain Froquet “Lines and Connections”.
Born in 1982 in Villeurbanne, Romain Froquet now lives and works in one of the most multicultural cities in the world: Paris. This is an environment in which the values, philosophies and aesthetics of many different peoples and eras organically intertwine and mutually influence each other.
Inspired by this environment and free from prejudice, passionate art lover Romain Froquet experiments with combinations of diverse cultural codes and deftly creates new connections on his canvases between the dynamics of urban art and the subtle expressiveness of graphics. It is in the process of the constant desire to reconcile the abstract with the figurative that unique and well-recognized author’s motives are born.
As part of Romain Froquet's fourth personal project, the space ASKERI GALLERY will present new abstract compositions by the author, which include rare ornamental elements hidden in clear graphic contours. They refer to an identity that manifests itself in total globalization. While our history and origins make us unique individuals, the modern forms of connection that unite us define our membership in a particular community. The artist skillfully conveys this changing state of modern man by interweaving lines on the canvas.
An artist with a rich exhibition history, which includes exhibitions all over the world, including at venues like the Pompidou Center in Paris, Romain Froquet is in constant search for new forms of creative expression and is by no means limited to gallery walls. In different parts of the world you can see his street art objects, graffiti, murals, installations and sculptures, and in Russia he is known for his large-scale collaboration with BOSCO DI CILIEGI, where the artist not only designed the windows of the Vesna trading house on Arbat, but also completely changed its internal appearance with his art objects and paintings.
The event partner is the Korean-French brand Erborian, the concept of which is based on the best achievements of traditional Korean pharmacology and modern high technologies. Constantly improving, Erborian embodies what many have strived for - combining the centuries-old secrets of Asian skin care in a convenient and modern form, creating incredible, unlike anything else, “smart beauty” products. The main pride of the brand is its ultra-light, delicate textures and highly effective, safe formulas.
