On February 4, ASKERI GALLERY opened the exhibition "A Place to Come Back." The exhibition marks the first presentation in Russia of works by the renowned Spanish artist Eva Armisén, created especially for the Russian audience. It also features new paintings by one of Russia’s finest artists, Pavel Polyansky. Eva Armisén’s work explores themes of timeless, unshakable values, conveying the significance of love and family as a creative force through depictions of everyday life. In her paintings, the ordinary is transformed into something meaningful and memorable, while the cycles of life are paralleled with natural cycles, emphasizing the inseparable connection between humans and their environment. A similar approach is evident in the paintings of Pavel Polyansky. The Russian artist works with futuristic narratives set against natural backdrops. The central theme of his work is the wholeness of the world—the unity of humans and nature, the organic and the artificial, the analog and the digital. "The discussion about a person’s place in the world is extremely important and relevant in contemporary art. Engaged in this eternal search, artists pose profound questions to themselves and inspire their audiences to reflect: Who am I? What is my place in the world? Who am I beyond my family? Who am I beyond this particular moment? How do I envision the future—both my own and that of the world as a whole? The urgency of these questions demonstrates the tremendous strides our society is making in self-awareness.
