Romain Froquet exclusively for Bosco di Ciliegi
Press release
Askeri Gallery presents a collaboration between Romain Froquet and Bosco di Ciliegi in the trade center ‘Vesna’.
For the first time in Russia an artist became an author of department store decoration: with support from Askeri Gallery French street artist Romain Froquet turned the storefronts of shopping mall “Vesna” to a magic garden, decorated it with his bright and recognizable murals. Artist created the design of every detail of a project by himself. On April the 14th, the artist made decorations for BOSCOFAMILY show in Moscow right before the eyes of the audience.
As Froquet says about his own artwork: «Here in VESNA I imagine a garden: with its brightness, light and flecks of numerous glass windows this space reminds me of a greenhouse where bright flowers are blossoming».
French artist Romain Froquet works in the genre of graffiti and street art. Being famous among experts and art collectors, Romain Froquet often takes part in many art projects, among which there is an exposition at Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Froquet’s art style reflects the most famous styles and directions of the XX century art: abstractionism and pop-art, art of Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning and Arshile Gorky.
This is not the first time Froquet works with trade centers: in 2015 he painted ceiling lamps on request of a Paris department store Printemps (note: translated form French as «Spring»), celebrating its 150th anniversary. The décor was initially conceived as temporary but people liked it so much and it fitted the interior so seamlessly that it was decided to preserve it.
In the territory of Russia and CIS countries Froquet’s creative work is exclusively presented by Askeri Gallery, where in 2016 his personal exhibition ‘Atômes’ took part.
