IN ZERO GRAVITY
From April 27 to May 20 at the Moscow contemporary art gallery
ASKERI GALLERY will host an exhibition of artist Darya Kotlyarova
"In Zero Gravity".
Daria has dedicated her new series of works to space. The heroes of her paintings are incredibly realistic, but at the same time they are noticeably submerged into the world of dreams and the airless space of fantasies. Reflection on distant worlds, planets and constellations coexists harmoniously with the desire to "ground" these thoughts a little, trying to try on a human figure to the immense expanse of space.

There is a hidden meaning in each of Kotlyarova's works. Surrealistic fantasy takes us simultaneously to the world of absolutely adult striving for progress and to the world of children's games and dreams. For example, in Daria's paintings the astronauts are either balancing on a Rubik's cube or hovering in zero gravity, catching butterflies with a net.
For the artist it is not just a fantasy, but also a touching homage to the works of her famous grandfather: Lev Kotlyarov - Honored Artist of the RSFSR, a talented book illustrator and author of the famous anniversary postcards dedicated to Yuri Gagarin's space flight. Therefore, the theme of space is primarily a family theme, combining reality and fantasy, past and present.
